HIGHLIGHTS

  • Champlain Valley Plumbing and Heating sent a man to fix the leak in the boiler room.  He capped off the pipe that was causing the leak.  I believe that the pipe went to the underground watering system that was installed when our shrubs and trees were planted years ago.

  • Luke told me that he would fix the sheetrock where the water leaked in the boiler room.  He is planning on taping and spackling it.  He is also replacing a rung on a child’s rocker and fixing the finish so that we can use it in the children’s room.  (It’s from my children.)

  • Steven Patterson (our lawn mowing person) trimmed the apple trees and a couple of others so that he could mow under them.  Ash Smith (an arborist) helped me trim up the bushes right next to the walkway that were overgrown.  He gave me some tips for the rest of the bushes as well.

  • Bob Lang (one of our patrons) removed the filter at the end of the bathroom faucet, purchased a new one and installed it and wouldn’t take any money for doing it!  It works so nicely now!

  • The 5 Town Libraries sponsored 2 programs this summer, both in the past month.  The first one featured a magician and storyteller and had 100 or more people in the audience.  Our second program was an African drum and dance band and had almost 200 people in attendance!

ACTION ITEMS:

  • Someone needs to check with the National Bank of Middlebury to see if Sally Burrell’s name has been taken off as a signer for our check book.  I believe that we will have to have some cards signed or something…   We will need someone to sign besides Larry.
  • The wall behind the leather chair in the children’s room has peeling paint.  I wondered if it can be touched up when the bead board is painted.
