  • chairs in shed and cover off from children’s play structure

2. Decide on copier

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Thank you Henry for your superb work on the website. The video is great!

  • We have had a mice infestation in our drop box – 4 on Wednesday of last week and 6 on Friday! Luke came in on Saturday and installed a piece of sheet metal to cover the place where they were getting in. Today there were no mice. YAY!

  • In late August a rep from Comcast called to see if we wanted our phone service with them. I said yes and filled out the necessary forms, etc. Today I got an email saying, “sorry, but Comcast does not offer phone service in your area.” Funny, but that was the very first question I asked when she called in August….

  • Meredith called and said that she will buff the linoleum floors on the last weekend of September. She may have to rent the buffer, since Lance no longer works at the elementary school. He used to let her use theirs. She is checking into it.

  • Marty from OCE called and wanted to know what we had decided to do about the copier. I told him that I would get back to him after the meeting. We are paying $50 a month for a machine that is old and can no longer be serviced. They want us to purchase one from them or suggested we buy a printer/copier which will cost around $400.

  • Mark Benz has written a grant that combines Lincoln Sports, the Burnham Foundation and the Library. He hopes to obtain funding for programs and split the funding.

  • Thanks Henry, Tina and Floyd for the ditch work and the raking of the driveway.

  • Mark Mulqueen has been in quite a bit lately to work on the computers. He installed power point on our laptop and we renewed Norton on all computers. When I mentioned turning in his hours, he just said something like, “don’t worry about it.”

  • David Brown brought in some mushroom photos that he wants to hang in our community room. Lisa Prescott will set up our next display which will be antique book ends. I need suggestions for the community room. I’m running out of exhibits. Let me know if you have any ideas.

  • Good news: our homeschool group is going to start up again this year. We were pretty inactive last year due to low parent involvement. We now have 2 families interested in meeting every month. I am leading a hike this coming Thursday at the Audubon Center in Huntington. I try to hold a hike twice a year.
