HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Jackman’s came on May 4th to clean the boiler and said that we have about 2” of condensation in the bottom of the oil tank outside.  The filters are catching it inside, so there is no problem yet, but it needs to be resolved.  They put in an equivalent to “dry gas” yesterday and will do it again in a few weeks.  If that doesn’t work, they will wait until the oil is down to 20 or 30 gallons and pump it out.

  • I spoke with Annie Leadbetter about taking care of Susan’s garden and replacing any lost plants.  She is on board with that.  She came on April 27th and put the screens up.

  • Steven Patterson will mow our lawn this summer. Thank you Larry for all of those years and hours mowing for us!  We will miss seeing you.

  • Eliz. Barrows stopped to see me and will donate a variety of plants for our sale again this year.

  • I took 7 teens to Burlington on April 21st to shop for young adult books using the grant money that we received from a grant last summer.  I was lucky to have Martha Mack (who graduated from Library School, but is not working in a library at the moment) to also drive and come with us. I was impressed with the quality of books and the time that the teens took to evaluate each book. We ate pizza on Church Street followed by a visit to Ben & Jerry’s.

  • Jim Brown and I talked on 4/27 about the Library sign.  Jim and I were leaning toward putting it off until fall.  I also spoke with Luke because Jim wasn’t sure about the wood aspect.  Should we consider a new look and/or a whole new sign?

ACTION ITEMS:

  • Roger Jimmo suggested painting one side a year.  Should we call him about that?

  • Make a decision on the sign.   Walt may have more information on this
